I am very fortunate to live in a community full of inspiration and support. Every time I turn my head, someone nearby is creating something that I didn’t know I needed. The Savvy Moms of the South Bay are pretty darn remarkable!

This morning I met one such woman- Kimberly Castner of Go Green Lunch Box.

Kimberly Castner

I was greeted at the door by this petite, stylish, and very energetic mother of two. At 9am she was dressed to perfection and doing a million things. It’s no wonder this creator of eco friendly lunch boxes is such a success.

Kim was inspired 3 years ago to create  fashionable and environmentally friendly lunch boxes after seeing the amount of trash created by daily packed lunches for her two kids. She hired engineers in order to create a product that met all of her needs:

– Help eliminate the estimated 67 pounds of lunch packaging waste each child generates per school year

– Help families save money… no more lunch packaging costs

– Encourage families to pack a well-balanced/appropriate size lunch

– Teach children the importance of reduce, reuse, and recycle

– Maintain freshness with its revolutionary turn & lock system

– Make it fashionable and cool so kids will want to take it to school

I am so in awe of how in three years Kim has created and launched a product that is now sold nationwide. I absolutely love them too!

Kim was so kind to give me a race car lunch box for my peanut. He will definitely be the coolest kid in daycare!

Not only did style meet function, but there are cool surprises along the way. My favorite detail is the white board on the inside of the lid. I now have every opportunity to love or annoy my child, even when he is not with me! LOL

One last photo I couldn’t skip. A true MomPreneur- Kim’s business has exploded in every direction, including her garage! You go girl!
