‘Monday I had the most hilarious, but exhausting shoot of my life. Little (ha, yeah right!) Alex is 18 months old and a ball of energy. Man can he run and giggle and run and fall and giggle- you get my point. It was an action packed two hours that gave opportunity for some great candids.

This first one is my favorite. I think that the photo Gods always give you a little gift somewhere in your photos. In this one, Alex’s hair naturally formed devil ears when he threw himself down on his chair.

And then the Angel came out :)

And then the Devil came back when he discovered a huge puddle of water. No wonder his mommy is so tiny! I couldn’t keep up!

Alex had his limits though. Even the Ice Cream Man couldn’t make him cross that monster pond!

But mommy caved in :)

Cram it all in Alex! You never know if someone is going to come and take it away from you! haha

I’m a little jealous of Alex’s fun today. When, as adults, do we ever let ourselves go? To jump in puddles and smear ice cream all over ourselves?

It’s no big deal though, there’s always BATHTIME!!

‘Just a few more photos from my dear Finley. Oh my gosh she is just precious! Is it ok that I’m jealous of an 8 month old? I mean, those eyes are just killer!

And one to just make you laugh…

‘Ahh my favorite type of photoshoot.. Newborn. Today I had the pleasure of photographing seven day old, Summer in her home. I think being a mom has made me so much more emotional. I shed a few tearsĀ  inbetween each photo. She is just so precious!

Summer is SO lucky to have a mom like Kyla. Not only is she beautiful and laid back, but extremely creative and talented. The details in Summer’s room are the cutest I’ve seen.

The natural lighting in Kyla’s home was a dream!

This is so crazy! I can’t believe it. Today, Nicholas and I logged into YouTube to show someone our wedding dance and the count was just over 1 million! Holy cow!

When we first started dating we thought taking dance lessons together would be a fun way to get to know each other. We took a lesson here, a lesson there, but nothing serious. Fast forward 2 1/2 years, we’re engaged, the wedding is quickly coming, and we (well more like I) decide that I want an amazing first dance together. We called up our dance instructor, scheduled private lessons, and practiced in the street, in the studio, in our kitchen, even in the gym. Thank God Nicholas is such a sport and enjoyed it as much as me. We were still doubting whether to do the dance the night before the wedding. OMG I’m so happy we did! Sorry for gushing, but I’m reliving it right now :)

Our amazing videographers were Alex and Julie Hill at Elysium Productions. They captured everything and then some!

This was actually a class assignment that I had last week. I am always enrolled in a class or two to continue growing as a photographer both technically and artistically. This assignment was a bit daunting though. How do you see yourself? How do others think of you? How do you capture it all in one photo?

I hemmed and hawed a long time about these questions. What I came up with was:

1. I’m always in motion. I think I exhaust my friends, family, and of course, husband. He says that he hasn’t sat down since he met me :) hehe

2. I love green- really really love green.

3. I consider myself a very happy and upbeat person.

So what did I do to capture all of this?

I wore green and spun around in circles while holding out the camera and hitting the shutter. Ah! That was exhausting in itself!

‘I LOVE photographing babies, but sometimes we have to step back and pay attention to mom. Behind every baby is a hot mamma and they cannot be neglected! Sarah and her husband had a beautiful baby girl, Finley, in August. The newborn stage has passed and it was definitely time to make Sarah feel like the beautiful woman she is. It was a lot of fun to get into the moment. We pretended we were doing a vintage burlesque shoot and everything was done in my bathroom!

Here are a few for you to take a sneak peak of. The rest are for her and her hubby to enjoy :)

Finley was such a good girl hanging out while mom and I had our fun. At three months, Finley already has her mom’s stunning looks…

‘I found this hat shopping today and couldn’t resist busting out the camera! Notice the theme? Drool!

James was ready to rip that camera right out of my hands!

I pushed my luck just a little further and took it inside. Just like with Alanna, James gave me his winning face at the end. ENOUGH ALREADY!

Guilt is a feeling I was told would never go away once I had a child. Five months into it, I have not proved anyone wrong. I woke up today feeling guilty for not spending enough time with James. Although I work from home, so many things keep me occupied, that the little fellow does not get my undivided attention. That being said, I grabbed James in his new Fall clothing and went for a crispy walk to Polliwog Park. Who knew that a five month old could have so much fun in the leaves!

These shoes kill me!
